The process is pain-free and peaceful. It is not hurried, with each stage taking as long as needed to ensure your pet remains as relaxed as possible.
When you first contact us, Debbie will discuss your wishes and agree a time for her to come to your home.
On arrival, and after a form of consent for euthanasia has been signed, Debbie will spend a few minutes introducing herself to your pet. She will then administer a sedative by injection under the skin, which is like a vaccination.
Over the following 5-20 minutes, depending on the pet's size and health status, they will gently relax and fall asleep. In that time you can cuddle your pet and say goodbye.
Once your pet is relaxed, Debbie will administer the final euthanasia injection. Your pet will pass away quietly within a few minutes.
You and your family may stay with your pet throughout the whole procedure.
Debbie will leave once your pet has passed away.
If you are making your own arrangements for cremation we can provide dignified transport of your pet to the crematorium.
Alternatively, we can arrange cremation on your behalf, with or without transport to the crematorium and the return of the ashes to you afterwards.
We understand people may want to stay with their pet after euthanasia so they can say goodbye one last time in private. Transport to the crematorium can be at a later time of your choosing.
